Obituary

Perry “Vernon” Renner, 74, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN joined his Lord and Savior in his Heavenly home suddenly on Sunday, December 22nd, 2013. Vernon was born in Greenville, TN on November 1st, 1939 a son of the late Marvin and Edna Renner. His family moved to this area when Vernon was a small child. Vernon attended the Grasshopper Road Church of God. He was retired from the Hardwick Stove Company after 46 years of service. He loved fishing and was a member of the local Bass Masters Club, a local bee keeper who took pride in offering his customers the “Cleanness Honey in Town”, avid bow hunter and real outdoorsman. Vernon however will be most remembered for being a devoted Christian and a true man of God.

In addition to his parents Vernon is preceded in death by one brother Carl Renner.

Vernon leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of over 55 years Billie Scott Renner, three sisters Rebecca Varnell, Janie Torbett (Robert) and Mary Ruth McCracken (Bill) of Delano, TN, one brother Glenn Renner (Shirley), numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Friday night, December 27th, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Grasshopper Road Church of God located at 6509 Grasshopper Road in Birchwood, TN with the Reverend Johnny Raper and the Reverend James Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the 6:00 PM memorial service.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Grasshopper Road Church of God in Vernon’s memory.
