On September 17, 2025, Paul Andrew Nicodemus peacefully passed away after a short battle with stage four stomach cancer.
Paul was born on June 4, 1966, in Poway, California. He and his wife, Melinda, were married just shy of 28 years and together raised three children: Zachary, Garrett, and Elizabeth. He survived by his loving wife and kids who were the center of his life.
He is also survived by his brother Guy and his wife Mo with their sons Ryan and Christopher, a daughter Krystyna, all of California; his sister Jennifer with her sons Robert and James of Cleveland; and his brother Peter and his wife Tanna Joe with their son Nick, also of Cleveland.
Paul grew up in California where he developed a love of surfing. After moving to Tennessee, he discovered a passion for kayaking and rafting. In fact, he and Melinda spent their honeymoon on the Ocoee River, where Paul was practicing for a river rodeo. For more than 30 years he worked as a welder at Komatsu, and he spent many summers as a raft guide for Quest Expeditions, sharing his love of the outdoors with others.
Paul had many passions-his family, gardening, his dogs and chickens, Mexican food, hot sauce, peppers, and cooking. He was an amazing home chef, and his meals will be deeply missed by all who gathered around his table.
On September 9, just days before his passing, Paul rededicated his life to Christ. His family is especially grateful to the nurses, Mary and Meagan, at Parkridge, who prayed with him and offered comfort in his final days.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Bryant Fellowship Hall at North Cleveland Church of God. Paul will be cremated, and his family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
Until we meet again, Paul Andrew-we love, love, love you.
