Patsy Wylene McAlister

Patsy Wylene Headrick McAlister, 80, of Tasso, passed away on August 29, 2026, at Bradley Medical Center in Cleveland, Tennessee. Wylene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Family was very important to her, as were her faith, her church, and music.

She was the beloved wife of Glenn Kenneth McAlister. They were married at Council Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee, on June 25, 1965, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage, building a life together, raising a family, and making many memories along the way. Wylene was a longtime member of Council Baptist Church, joining the church in 1960. Her church was an important part of her life, and she sang in the church choir for 62 years, sharing her love of music with her church family for more than six decades.

Wylene loved to sing, camp, swim, fish, arrange flowers, play cards, and garden. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her two granddaughters, Lyndsey and Sascha, making memories together. Before Lyndsey and Sascha were born, she became Mimi to Adam Houston, Cameron Liner, Tessa Liner Workman, Amy Maddux, and Alicia Maddux Driggans. She also loved working with children and young people at Council Baptist Church. She served as Adult Choir Director for many years, taught Sunday School classes from youth through women's adult, and helped start the youth choir. She enjoyed singing with the Charleston Community Choir and was an active part of the Bradley-Cleveland Senior Activity Center, where she enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn McAlister; daughter, Theresa (Marquis) Painter; granddaughters, Lyndsey (Chris) Lee and Sascha (Analina) Richardson; brothers-in-law Herman Johnson, Wayne Gibson, and Dean McAlister; sister-in-law Bertha McAlister; nephew Darren (Rhonda) Johnson; nieces Deanna McAlister (CAPT Lonnie Hosea, USN) and Dione (Clint) Butler; grandnieces Cheyenne (Dylan) House and ENS Jenna (Andrew) Hosea Baker, USN; and other loved ones. Wylene was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Lee Headrick; her mother, Mildred Ruby Lee Howard Headrick; and her sister, Charlotte Headrick Gibson.

She will be remembered for the love she gave and the many memories she made with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wylene loved purple and flowers. If you'd like, wear a little purple or something floral to her service in her honor.

Visitation will be held September 3, 2026, from 4-7 PM at Council Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM, with Bro. Keith Watson and Bro. Kenny Purdie officiating.

Graveside service will be held at Council Cemetery in Charleston, Tennessee, on September 4, 2026, at 11 AM.

Casket escort will be CAPT Lonnie Hosea, USN.

Pallbearers will be Clint Butler, Darren Johnson, Christopher Lee, Analina Richardson, Cameron Liner, Adam Houston, David McAlister, and Daniel McAlister.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dean McAlister, Herman Johnson, ENS Jenna Hosea Baker, USN, Andrew Baker, Bob Morgan, Royce Wolfe, Artie Jenkins, Greg Jenkins, and Bobby Fugate.
