Pam Healy

Pam Healy, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, artist, and faithful servant of the Lord, lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and devotion to others.

Pam was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1948 to Daniel and Maxine Macher. She grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings, Gayle, Paul, and Jenny. From an early age, Pam's gifts for music, art, teaching, and service were evident. She played clarinet in high school, sang in the Triple Trio, and developed a lifelong love of creating beautiful things with her hands.

After graduating from Vandalia Butler High School, Pam attended The Ohio State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in education and specialized in working with deaf and developmentally disabled children. She later earned her master's degree from Antioch University, graduating at the top of her class. Pam's passion for teaching was recognized early in her career when she was named Ohio Teacher of the Year, leading instructional workshops for educators across the state.

Pam poured her heart into education throughout her life. She began by teaching kindergarten students with developmental and hearing challenges, later returned to the classroom at Christian Life Center, and eventually taught early childhood education at Clark State Community College. There, she inspired and mentored a new generation of teachers until her retirement in 2018. Even after retiring, Pam continued serving children through ministries at her local churches in Ohio and Tennessee.

Pam met her husband, Chuck Healy, in a pottery class where he was the instructor. Their shared creativity blossomed into both a loving marriage and a thriving pottery business. Together, they became known for their unique handmade pieces, which they designed, painted, and sold at festivals, including Dayton's Oktoberfest arts festival during the 1970s and 1980s.

Pam's faith was the foundation of her life. After accepting Jesus into her heart, she lived each day with joy, generosity, and steadfast devotion. She and Chuck served together in ministry in many ways, including a singles ministry that brought many couples together in marriage. Pam also sang on praise teams, volunteered in children's classrooms, prepared meals for local food kitchens, and used her remarkable cooking talents to serve hundreds with warmth and grace.

Her creativity knew no bounds. Whether sewing dresses for her children, crafting pottery, baking homemade breads and pies, making hand-decorated cookies, or turning ordinary household items into delightful teaching tools, Pam used her imagination to bring joy to others. She loved the outdoors, including hiking, camping, kayaking, biking, and exploring the Smoky Mountains. She was also a proud fan of her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Maxine Macher; her twin brother, Paul Macher; and her husband, Chuck Healy.

She is survived by her loving children, Katie Healy, Rebekah Kidwell and husband Sam, and Elizabeth Crouch and husband John; grandchildren, Lexie Crouch, Trinity Kidwell, Peyton Crouch, Chevy Kidwell; and her fur-grandchild, Alle-Palle. She is also survived by her siblings, Gayle Sultzbach and husband Jon, and Jenny Smith and husband Jeff; sister-in-law, Denise Macher; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Pam's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, creativity, and service. Her joy, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on in the many lives she blessed.
