Oscar P. Collins Jr.

Oscar P. Collins Jr., 83, passed away on January 25, 2026. He was born to the late Oscar P. Collins Sr. and Mildred Collins on July 15, 1942 in Wehutty, North Carolina.

Oscar was fiercely loyal to his family. He worked his entire life to make sure his wife and children were taken care of. He was said to be a faithful friend, and always had his family's back. He loved to spend time with his family and friends hunting and fishing. Oscar also enjoyed gardening. He was very talented working with his hands and wood, and could build mostly anything. Oscar had a lifelong career in construction management. Oscar had a great sense of humor. He would often create little jingles and sing them throughout the day.

In addition to his parents, Oscar is preceded in death by his siblings, Jack and Joanne Collins.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Collins, children, Oscar P. Collins III, Perry Collins, Chris Collins, Cindy Collins Self, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, sisters, Leah Collins King, Sharon (Gary) Collins Morrow, and sister-in-law, Lavonne Collins; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with Pastor Marv Eskew and Pastor Don Shelton officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Lee Cemetery.
