Nancy Newman

April 17, 1942 — June 14, 2025

Nancy "Charlene" Newman, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Born on April 17, 1942, Charlene lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and presence touched many.

Charlene is lovingly remembered by her daughters Rhonda Brantley (Frank) and Nancy McClure (Matt). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Brandon George, Cortney George (Jake Hughes), Dylan George, Tanner Elliott (Audrey Pattat), Skylar Elliott, and Ryker Elliott; and her adored great-grandchildren: Liam Campbell, Jaxon Hughes, Everett Hughes, Olive Sarmiento, and Onyx Sarmiento.

She is also survived by her sisters Beverly "Beb" King and Norma "Jean" Gilham; her brother Olen "Tommy" Haisten (Claudia); her special cousin Brenda Demps and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Each one of them held a unique place in Charlene’s heart.

Charlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald Newman; her parents Dorothy Johnston and Charles Stuman; and her brother Charles "David" Stuman.

A woman of many interests, Charlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cross stitching and spent countless hours creating intricate pieces that reflected both patience and artistry. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles but her love of playing cards with her family brought so much laughter and great memories.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Beech Park Baptist Church, located at 1085 E Tri County Blvd., Oliver Springs, TN 37840. Any donations can be sent to the family at 148 Oliver Springs Hwy, Clinton TN 37716, or the church. Rather than flowers, please send plants that can serve as a lasting tribute for years to come.

May the memory of Nancy "Charlene" Newman bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
