Christine McCabe, 94, of Spring City, TN went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2026.
Christine never met a stranger. Whether she knew someone for years or had just met them, she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness that made them feel like family. A talented seamstress, she took pride in creating with her hands and found great joy in crocheting. She also loved spending time yard sale shopping, antiquing, and collecting unique treasures.
Christine faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, sharing her love for the Lord and making a lasting impact on the lives of those she taught. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she loved the Lord with all her heart.
Christine's kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Thomas "Biggin" McCabe; parents, Joseph and Lula Smith; son, Tony; siblings, Leonard, Boyd, Oliver, Paul, Owen, Viola Faye, Paula, Maxine and Lula Lee.
Survivors include her daughter, Freda (Bill) Akin; grandchildren, Wendy (Shannon), Crystal (Curtis), and Amber (Kevin); great grandchildren, Alex, Tucker, and Cooper; siblings, Max (Mary) Smith, and Juanita Ballard; brother in-laws, Bill Manchester and Jim; many nieces and nephews including her special caregiver, Margaret Henderson and "adopted" daughter and caregiver, Sandra Turner; and other loved family and friends.
There will be a Graveside Service at a later date, and we will update the obituary once the details have been confirmed at companionfunerals.com.
