Nadezhda Vasilevna Mejia

Nadezhda Vasilevna Mejia, 62, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born in Ukraine on March 28, 1963, to the late Visaliy and Galina Pikul. Nadezhda was a woman of faith and believed in the power of prayer and reading her Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing board games and taking trips to places such as Rock City and to the beach. She liked listing to music and singing. Nadezhda also loved gardening, tending to her plants, and taking pictures of her flowers. She was a hard worker and gifted seamstress spending a lot of time making clothes. She enjoyed laughing and telling stories during teatime with her friends. Nadezhda was a gifted artist and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ludmila Bodnariouk.

She is survived by her son, Pablo Mejia (Abrielle); daughter, Nathaly Mejia; and brothers, Nikolai, Peter, and Alex.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Companion Funeral Home - Ridge Chapel, located at 2412 Georgetown Road, Cleveland, TN 37311. A Celebration of Nadezhda’s Life will begin at 12:00PM at Companion Funeral Home - Ridge Chapel beginning at 12:00PM with Reverend Scott Smith officiating. Following the service, Nadezhda will be laid to rest in Lee Cemetery on South Lee Highway in McDonald, TN.
