It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Gibson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, who left us on September 20, 2025. Mike was 70 and spent his final days surrounded by the love of his family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Mildred Gibson and his brother, Karl Gibson, who passed one year prior.
Michael leaves behind his devoted wife, Nancy, with whom he shared an inseparable bond and a lifetime of memories. Their love was a testament to commitment, joy and partnership, and Mike's smile and unwavering support will forever be missed by Nancy and all who knew them.
Mike was a proud father to four children, Jason Gibson, Deana Johnson, Carrie Gibson and Adam Gibson. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kelly, Haley, Emily, Peyton, Ally and Kaylee as well as his great grandson Levi. His children and grandchildren were the pride of his life, and he loved them with all his heart. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren, who were the light of his world. Also, survived by his brothers, Steve, David, Chris and Dale.
Known for his easygoing nature, Mike had an infectious smile and a spirit that could light up any room. Whether at home or on the go, he was always ready for an adventure, and his warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. He was a family man through and through, happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He will be very missed.
In addition to his immediate family, Mike will be deeply missed by his extended family and a wide circle of friends who were lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM, at Companion Funeral Home & Crematory, 6018 John Douglas Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. He service will begin at 6:00 PM with Patrick Williams officiating.
