Michael Edwin Ford

Michael Edwin Ford of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2026. He attended Tyner High School and worked for Dillard Smith Construction Company and was self-employed for over 35 years operating Mike's Lawn Care Services.  He was a member of the 1969 Lakeside all-star team that won the Dixie Youth World Series. Mike loved the outdoors and spending time on the lake fishing.  He was a devoted animal lover and cared for many dogs, cats, and other critters over the years that needed help or a home.

Mike was proceeded in death by his dad, Robert Stanley Ford, with whom he has now reunited with in heaven.  He is survived by his mother, Jackie Charlotte Ford; his children, Shawn Ford and Mindy Ford; his brother, Greg Ford (Kim), his sister, Karen Craze (Mike).  He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and a great-niece and nephew.

Dear to his heart and forever loved, his loyal dog Mela, who was his best friend and constant companion.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13th at Standifer Gap Baptist Church, 8159 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, TN  37421. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with the service following.
