Michael Keith Atchley

Michael Keith Atchley, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on May 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy grounded in peace, compassion, and the pursuit of understanding. Born on May 11, 1951, Michael was a true Southern gentleman-witty, charming, and thoughtful.

A lifelong Democrat, he found joy in the simple pleasures of connecting with nature and the art of fly fishing. His life was shaped by a deep passion for music, history, and humanity. He believed in the power of compassion, dialogue, and learning, and his presence brought calm and wisdom to those around him. "Blessed are the peacemakers" could well serve as his life's creed.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Virginia Jo Atchley and Billy Joe Atchley.

He is survived by his children: Magan Hutchison (Matt), TiƯani Harnish (Del), and Alan Young (Candice); his grandchildren: Haley Laws (Conner), Dylan Davis, Hunter McCaskill (Taylor), Morgan Bruce, Drew Barrow (Destanie), Connor and Everleigh Young; and his great-grandchildren: Jaxon Forrester, Navy and Noland Laws, Greyson and Londyn Barrow. 

Michael's memory will be honored with a plaque at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, where an urn will be placed in his name. A date will be announced.
