Melvin "Mel" Frank Roher, Jr. passed away on June 6, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 22,1946 in Oneida, NY to Melvin Frank and Lillian Roher Sr.

Mel was a jack of many trades. He would build houses, make crosses, work at trash dumps, and so much more. Mel would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Until the very end he wanted to make you laugh.

Mel was welcomed as family into the Johnson home in 2013 and became family. He met Stephanie Johnson first who introduced him to the family. From that point on he was at their house every Sunday. In 2013 Mel was seen by the Johnsons living out of his car because he had given his home to his other family. The Johnsons took him in at that point and they all became family.

Surviving him as family are (Adopted Daughter ) Tonya Johnson Husband Bobby and their children, Crystalyn Tallent (Dustin) Philadelphia, TN, Cassidy Wingrove (Adam) Cleveland TN, Bobby Johnson Harriman, TN, Stephanie Johnson of Harriman, TN, Jeremiah Johnson (Brianna) of Harriman TN; The Grandchildren he absolutely loved, Adailie Wingrove, Bastion Johnson, Paisley Wingrove, Karter Sullivan, Ayla Wingrove William Brown, Arya Tallent, Ace Tallent, Toby Tallent, Issac Tallent, Nathanael Schmidt, Kaden Tallent and Winter Schmidt. Surviving sister, Nancy Walsh from New York; Truest and Best friend, Juanita Breedlove from Cleveland, TN and niece, Cassandra VanDusen from New York.

He loved fishing with his family. He prided himself in making everyone laugh. Even though everyone had their ups and downs he was very loved by this family and devoted to their love and happiness.

What he wanted everyone to remember when he was gone was "I am the Grumpy Old Man" and "I Love You All."
