Melinda D. Garland

Melinda Denise Garland, 50, passed away on September 4, 2026. She was born to the late William and Linda Young on August 22, 1976 in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Melinda loved her family above all else. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed attending Indy Wrestling shows, shopping, and spending time doing anything that involved her family being together. Her love for her family was unconditional, and the memories she created with them will last forever.

In addition to her parents, Melinda is preceded in death by her husband, David Garland, her grandparents, Joe and Ruby Young, and James and Velma Byers, as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Freddie and Helen Garland.

Melinda is survived by her children, Blake (Jenna) Garland, Brittany (John) Rymer, Ryan (Danyua) Garland, grandchildren, Makynley Haun, Teagan Rymer, Nash Garland, Sawyer Bishop, sister, Allison Young, nephew, Tyler Young, and several other extended family members that loved her deeply.

The family will receiving friends on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary with Reverend John Rymer officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Lebanon Cemetery.
