Meda Mantooth

Meda Bowman Cox Mantooth, 95, of Old Fort, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Meda was born on July 14, 1928, in Conasauga, TN to the late Suzanna Waters Bowman and Beryl Bowman. She was a dedicated and lifelong member of Conasauga River Baptist Church.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin "Meb" Cox; her second husband, Donald Mantooth; infant grandson Melvin Garrard Ritenour; her sisters, Mildred Smith, and Mary Hobbs; and her brothers, Gene Bowman, Victor Bowman, Hubert Bowman, and Dale Bowman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Charlotte (Bill) Price, and Anita (Ken) Ritenour; her grandchildren, Jason Price, Haley (Tim) Quesenberry, Lindsey (Anthony) Hurst, and Ken III (Ashley) Ritenour; her great grandchildren, Jacob, and Jaden Seay; and her sister, Mabel Rogers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Conasauga River Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jackie Martin, and Pastor Chad Maxwell officiating. A graveside service is to follow at Moore's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Jason Price, Ken Ritenour III, Tim Quesenberry, Anthony Hurst, Jacob Seay, and Joseph Bates serving as pallbearers.
