Matthew Austin Gibson

Loving son and father Matthew Austin Gibson, 31, of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Mark Gibson and Yolanda Blocker Gibson. Matthew is preceded in death by Peggy Sue Gibson and Jennell Blocker.

After graduating high school, Matthew went to trade school for welding at Cleveland State Community College and was active in the addict recovery community in Bradley and Knox County. Matthew’s smile was contagious and lit up every room he was in. He was a music connoisseur with a heart or gold. Matthew will be sorely missed.

Survivors include: His children Mya Ferguson, Austin Gibson, and Ryleigh Haun; His siblings: Jonathan (Kim) Gibson, Jarrett (Melanie) Gibson, Mark (Danielle) Gibson and Kala (Chris) McSwain and grandparents: John Edgar Gibson and Barbara Lowery Grier.

A home going celebration will be held Companion Funeral Home on Monday, July 11, 2022. Burial service to follow.
