Maryann Elizabeth Casey was born on July 6, 1982, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She was one of ten children and raised in Sacramento, CA, within the beautiful, loving, and noisy chaos that large families experience. She was known as "Mouse" among her siblings, a nickname that reflected her small stature and sweet childhood voice. As she grew, her strong, steadfast, independent nature reflected as a calm in the middle of any storm. She was the listener, the peacemaker, the steady heart that her family could count on.

Anyone who loves Maryann knows there was nothing small about the way Maryann lived. Her love had no limits. Her courage was extraordinary. Her loyalty was fierce. Her kindness was boundless. She married the love of her life, Allen, in September 2002 and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and unconditional love. They made their home in Etowah, Tennessee, in December 2003, where they raised three beautiful children, their greatest joys: Christin, Allen, and Madison.

Maryann loved without conditions, was level-headed, accepted people exactly as they were, made sure people felt seen, safe, and valued. She was a staunch protector of friends, family, and those in need and her patience and kindness were endless. Twelve years ago, Maryann donated a kidney to her beloved sister-in-law, Judy (Dan's wife). For her, it was not a question of "if," she would do whatever she could to help her loved ones. She made sacrifices with a helpful smile and gave of herself when she could.

Professionally, Maryann has always surpassed all workplace standards of ethics, dependability, leadership skills, and team compatibility. She started her career at Wood's Memorial in housekeeping but quickly moved to an assistant supervisor by the time she was 23, and later to full supervisor. Later, she was recruited to start her career with Tennova Cardiology and promoted to Practice Management. She then moved into a consulting role that included credentialing and became an RCM manager with Revele where she travelled and consulted with multiple healthcare facilities. Her coworkers have shared stories of her positivity, barrier-pushing mentality, and warm presence. She obtained her bachelor's degree in 2020, in Business Management, though she was already an undeniable expert and a consistent analytical problem- solver in healthcare office administration.

In her daily life, Maryann was incredibly organized, thoughtful, and dependable - not because she loved the administrative tasks, spreadsheets, or paperwork, but because she loved people. She understood that taking care of the practical things was another way of saying, "I love you." She ensured bills were paid, routines were in place, plans were made, and every detail was cared for. She did all of this for her loved ones and her work families but never let responsibility steal her joy. She planned vacations just as carefully as budgets. She made room for both routine and adventure in her life, reminding all of us that being responsible creates the freedom to genuinely enjoy life.

For the last ten months Maryann fought an aggressive form of colon cancer with remarkable courage, resilience, and grace. She continued to make beautiful memories with her loved ones - seeing the beaches in Florida and St. Lucia, taking her annual family trip to Gatlinburg, finding respite at a retreat home in Ohio, and planning and hosting numerous family events at her home.

Maryann passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, surrounded by those who were devoted to her, all her loved ones who shared her beautiful life. She was welcomed into eternal life by her father, Michael, who passed exactly two years prior, on July 31, 2024, her beloved brother Dan, who passed on July 27, 2024, and numerous family members and close friends she has missed dearly. We know she is sitting on a beach somewhere enjoying a margarita with Dan and Michael right now.

She said her goodbyes to Allen, her devoted husband; her children, Christin, Allen, and Madison; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Grace and son-in-law, Ethan; her granddaughter, Emberly Mary Ann; her mother; her brothers and sisters; mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, her many nieces and nephews; and countless family and friends whose lives were forever changed by the way she loved them all.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Athens, Tennessee. There will be a reception to follow at the church from 2:00-4:00 P.M.
