Mary Wooten

Mary Ruth Wooten 83, of Dayton, Tennessee passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born November 23, 1942 to Lucille and Melvin Olinger. Mary was a devoted loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She helped anyone she could. She is going to be greatly missed by family, extended family, and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her daughters, Karen Dunn and Barbara Wooten; Son, Stanley Wooten; Ex-husband, Benjamin Wooten; Mother and Father, Lucille (Huse) Denton and Melvin Olinger; Brother, Clyde (Sally) Olinger; and other extended family.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Jack) Castelow; Grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Holland, Tasha (Justin) Hickman, James (Emily) Dunn, Jamie Robery, Ashlyn, and Matt. She was blessed with fourteen great-grandkids, Paige Idol, Cayden (Lilly) Holland, Tyler Holland, Hagen Hickman, Sophia Dunn, Abel Sears, Arriana Dunn, Levi, Haven, Mckenize, Mattie, Jade, and Scooter.

I would like to thank the nurses and aids from Gentiva Hospice for the care of my mother. Thank you to: Joann Tessier, Jenny Gunter, Vicky Kurinec, Deanna Witt, and Chaplin Bryce Current.

There will be a memorial service at a later date at The Family Dayton Church of God with Pastor Jeff Paige and Chaplain Bryce Current officiating.
