Mary Ruth Scoggins

Mary Ruth Scoggins, 94, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday morning, May 6th, 2017 in a local hospital. Mary was born in Cleveland on July 1st, 1922 a daughter of the late Robert & Sue Smith. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mary was retired from the Cleveland Enamel Plant. She loved quilting, crocheting and loved to be around people and talk with everyone. Mary never met a stranger. She will be most remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Scoggins, two infant sons Jimmy & Larry Scoggins, son Robert L. Scoggins and one sister Willie Mae Myers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Carolyn Scoggins, one son Eulas Scoggins and wife Linda, daughter in law Jackie Scoggins, one brother Stanley Smith and wife Jerri, three grandchildren Beth Little (DePre), Susan Scoggins and Amy Carroll (Charles), two great grandchildren Cole Little and David Carroll, special cousin Dotsy Keller, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Monday, May 8th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church located on Blue Springs Road in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Steve Huff officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time.
