Mary Knox

Mary Esther Knox, 78, of Harrison, TN passed away Wednesday, October 15th. She was born January 12, 1947 to Viola Eloise Kennedy Knox and Paul Monroe Knox. She graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1965, then attended Lee College. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she dedicated many years to the ministry as a pastor's wife. She later attended Chattanooga State and received her Associates Degree as a legal assistant.

Esther was preceded in death by her mother and father, a brother James Lester Knox, and her daughter Katherine Viola Gillette. She is loved and missed by her son Eddie Gillette, Jr. (Candie), son-in-law Jeffrey Burgner (Christie), grandchildren Kyle Burgner, Samuel Burgner, Savannah Gillette-Laubach (David), Alexys Jones Gillette Morris (Gideon), TJ Brown, Austin Brown, and Eddie Gillette III, sister Faye Rizzo (Jim), brother Paul Knox, along with her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would also like to say a special thank you to the staff at Standifer Place for the love and care they have given during her time there.

A celebration of life will be held at City Church Chattanooga on Monday, November 17th at 3:30 PM. led by Pastor Ernie Reno.
