Mary Frances (Abbott) Caldwell went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2026.

Mary Frances was born on October 15, 1928 to Charles Gay and Elizabeth Brown Abbott in Greenwood, MS. She was a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women (formerly MSCW: Mississippi State College for Women). Mary Frances was a teacher and taught science in both high school and junior college at different points.

Mary Frances lived a very full, sweet life. She was known for her love for God and His creation, and her love for family and friends. She ended many interactions with the reminder that God is with us or the encouragement of "God bless you, and we know He does." Mary Frances enjoyed visits with family and friends, both in person and over the phone. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on her Ole Miss Rebels and the Atlanta Braves. She attended First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, TN.

Mary Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hugh Robison Caldwell, Sr., her sister, Adah Abbott Moses, her daughter, Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Caldwell, and her son, Dr. Hugh Robison (Rob) Caldwell, Jr. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Georgia Caldwell, sister, Betsy Brown Abbott, grandson, Dr. Hugh Robison (Robby) Caldwell III (Meghan), granddaughter, Hanna Elizabeth Burke (Dylan), and two great-grandchildren, Robert Bennett Burke and Rylie Elizabeth Burke.

Funeral services are TBD at Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola, MS.
