Marvin R. "Todd" Deford

Marvin R. “Todd” Deford, 80, passed away on September 19, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1942 to the late Maynard and Lillie Deford.

He was a lifelong farmer and could always be found in the hayfield. He enjoyed working in the garden and providing crops for his family and friends. He worked for many years in the building material industry. Todd was a very caring and generous person, always eager to help anyone needing anything. He was also an avid dog lover who loved his pets dearly. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his sister Doris Cross (Avery), son Jeff Deford, and beloved dog Butch.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Deford; children: Sherry Williamson Yow (John); Todd Deford (Shawna); grandchildren: Christena Mariedth, Hannah Williamson (Jonathan Barbee), Jonathan Williamson (Savannah), Ashley Gentry; great grandchildren: Cami Marideth, Meelah Mariedth, Jaiden Williamson, and Isaac Barbee.

Todd’s family will receive friends from 2pm until 4pm on Friday September 23rd at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Liberty Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery.
