Our precious mama, Martha Black Trentham, age 81, went home to be with Jesus on February 1, 2026.
She was a Baptist and a longtime member of Ball Play Baptist Church. Martha had a servant's heart and found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved making quilts, embroidering, going to church, and preparing fried apple stacks for her brothers and sisters-acts of love that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Martha was a 1963 graduate of Polk County High School and dedicated over 20 years of service working at Rubbermaid in Cleveland, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Esther Black; her husband, David Trentham; Betty Pullin, Verlin Black, Bobby Black, Annie Wilcoxin, James Black, and Donnie Black; her grandson, Masan Trentham; her great-granddaughter, Paige Trentham; and her great-grandson, Kasan Trentham.
She is survived by her loving children, Arthur (Christy) Trentham and Sherry (Doug) Wilson; her siblings, Mary Park of Eaton, Georgia, and Holland Black of Old Fort, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Cassie (Jeremy) Stewart, Matthew (Riley) Wilson, and Rae (Eric) Rodden; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob Wilson, Zane Wilson, and Macie Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Beech Springs Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Matthew Harris and Darren Fansler.
Martha will be laid to rest at Ball Play Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Black, Matthew Wilson, Eric Rodden, Jeremy Stewart, PeeWee Crisp, and Tyler Crisp.
