Martha Lee Fulbright

Martha Lee Fulbright, age 92, passed away on August 4, peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of Faith, Love and many, many memories.

Martha was born on December 22, 1933 and was one of 15 children of the late Cam Macklin and Claudia Mae Gamble. Growing up in northeast Alabama in a large family brought many responsibilities so after graduation from high school she went to work for Bell Telephone Company in Chattanooga where she met a friend from Benton Station, TN. This friendship led to an introduction to a young GI named Gerald Lewis Fulbright. They would marry a short time later and start a family of their own. Gerald and Martha did much together over 44 years of marriage. She would go on to be a wife, mother, grandmother while also gardening, taking care of all things family and eventually becoming a Pastor's wife when Gerald accepted the call to Pastoral Ministry. When she wasn't working for her family she also enjoyed playing with her family. Playing cards, fishing and badmitton were just a few of the things she loved. She was most recently a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN and loved her Lord Jesus Christ with whom she rests today.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Rev. Gerald Lewis Fulbright, Sr, her daughter Susan F. Dotson, her father Cam Macklin Gamble and mother Claudia Mae Gamble,

Eight brothers, and 2 sisters.She is survived by one daughter Patricia Gilliland, one son Gerald Lewis Fulbright, Jr. and wife Carol A. Fulbright, six grandchildren Jenifer Mauldin and husband Brad Mauldin, Roderic Dotson, Robert Dotson, Paula Johnston and husband Logan Johnston, Jillian Shaw and husband Timothy as well as Thomas Fulbright and wife Meagan Fulbright. twenty great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 2:00 pm. Saturday, August 8, 2026 in the Original Chapel at Companion Funeral Home 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW; Cleveland, TN 37311 (423) 473-2620 for a visitation only.

There will be a brief Graveside Service at approximately 3:00pm at the Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery
