In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Mark Miller, who passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, after a short battle with Melanoma. Mark was born on November 12, 1955, in Schenectady, New York, to Laurene Winch Piliere and Robert C. Miller. He was later blessed with a loving stepfather, Francis C. Piliere Sr. Mark was predeceased by his parents and stepfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Mark's journey through life was graced with the companionship of his beloved wife, Louise Miller. Their partnership began in college and culminated in marriage on November 7, 1981. For nearly 50 years, they shared an inseparable bond, exploring the world and supporting each other through life's many adventures. Together, they raised their daughter, Alex Miller, who was the light of Mark's life. His sister, Laurie Burton Grego, and her husband John Grego, along with his brother, Francis C. Piliere Jr., and his wife Margie Piliere, survive him, as do his dear nieces, Laurene Rodriguez and her husband Jesús, and Jamie Burton, alongside many cousins and extended family members.

Mark was a man of ambition, graduating from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a minor in Finance. His career was marked by leadership roles in the banking industry, where he ultimately founded his own business consulting firm, providing guidance and support to many professionals. His work ethic and level-headed nature earned him the respect and admiration of all who had the pleasure of working with him.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mark was deeply involved in his community. As an active member of various Methodist Churches across the country, he found joy in serving as Treasurer and Youth Group leader, singing in the choir, and participating in mission trips. His faith and commitment to service were cornerstones of his character.

Mark's zest for life was evident in his many passions. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hiking, golfing with friends, and skiing with family. He was known for his enthusiasm on the slopes, often being the first one on the mountain and the last one off. Mark enjoyed watching all sports, and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees.

His love for music was a defining aspect of his life. Mark attended many concerts and amassed a treasured collection of vinyl records. He especially loved the Allman Brothers and other classic rock bands. Mark enjoyed plays and musicals, holding season passes to many local theaters.

Mark's curiosity and thirst for knowledge led him to explore historic sites and museums, often engaging in lively discussions with his brother, Frank. His sister, Laurie, was his partner in crime on the dance floor, where you could find them spinning and laughing together. Mark cherished his time with his daughter, Alex, going antiquing, watching movies, and discovering new culinary delights together.

Throughout their 50-year partnership, Mark and Louise traveled across the country, exploring national parks and small towns, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever be treasured. Their love was a testament to the power of friendship and unwavering support.

Mark's infectious smile, hearty laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Morristown Hamblen Humane Society, an organization close to Mark's heart (https://mh-humanesociety.com/).

As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, let us remember Mark Miller for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought to the world.

Per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. A private remembrance will be held with family.
