Marie Dorothy Hale

Marie D. Hale, age 87, went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026.

Marie was born on November 24, 1938, in Rome, New York, to the late Floyd G. Bloss and Mildred Thayer Bloss. She was of the Baptist faith and devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker. Marie was blessed with five children, whom she cherished deeply.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas G. Hale; her son, David Hale; her precious grandchild, Millie; her sisters, Ruth, Lois, and June; her brothers, Bobby and Floyd (Lila); and her sisters-in-law, Margaret (Paul), Sherry (Bob), Carolyn (Gerald), and Beth (Ed).

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Douglas G. Hale Jr. (Patty) of Shelbyville, Michigan; Yvonne Gosnell (Danny) of Chesnee, South Carolina; Donna Imlay (Gary "Joe") of Decatur, Tennessee; and Teresa Reynolds (Billy) of Inman, South Carolina. Marie is also survived by five grandchildren, Travis (Jada), Ashley, Danny (Shelby), Luke (Brianna), and Joshua (Rhed); eight great-grandchildren, Addyson, Aydon, Auston, Liam, Brantley, Savior, Addison, and Nevaeh; her brother, Walter (Sandy) of Rome, New York; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Blanton (Jerry) of Chesnee, South Carolina; along with several nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Restoration Clinic of Decatur, Tennessee, for the compassionate care shown to their mother, as well as to Gentiva Hospice for their support and care during this time.

Services will be held at a later date in Chesnee, South Carolina.
