Marcell was born on January 18, 1939 in Cullman, Alabama. He resided in Chattanooga, Tennessee for a little over 30 years, and then moved his family to Ooltewah, Tennessee where he spent the last 50 years of his life.
Marcell graduated from Tyner High School in 1958. He joined the Air Force right out of high school, where he spent four years as a crew chief (airplane mechanic). After serving 4 years in the Air Force, he was honorably discharged in 1962. Marcell and Liz married in 1963 and in November would have celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Marcell worked for almost 30 years at Combustion, retiring in 1997. He and Liz then started planning for their current home and built it in the year 2000. Marcell enjoyed working in his garden, flowers and recently raising his chickens. He shared his produce with many of his friends. He made a beautiful place that was enjoyed by many.
One of the happiest moments to recall was when Marcell re-dedicated his life to Jesus, joined Greenwood Baptist Church and was baptized in July 2016. His family gathered at the church that special Sunday morning and got to witness this joyous occasion.
We will always love Marcell with all our hearts and he will be greatly missed until we meet again on that Heavenly shore.
