Maida Louise Thurman

Maida Louise Thurman, 78, of Spring City, TN passed away on April 19, 2026.

Maida was an extraordinary and resilient woman who was deeply loved by all who knew her. Before her illness, she found great joy in spending time on the water, especially riding on the pontoon boat with her husband, Jerry. She dedicated more than 30 years of service as a supervisor at Kayser-Roth Corporation in Dayton, Tennessee, where her commitment and leadership were greatly valued. She will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Roxie Hill; sisters and brother in-laws, Hazel (Earl) Carr, Margaret (Doyle) Bowen, and Linda (Bobbie Joe) Suttles; brother, David Hill.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jerry Thurman; daughter, Stephanie Swafford; granddaughters, Kearia Ervin, Asha Simmons; great granddaughter, Kali Ann Ervin; brothers and sister in-laws, Bob (Anna) Hill and Jackie (Janice) Hill; sisters and brother in-laws, Brenda (Butch) Carr and Tammy (Lamon) Kervin; sister in-law, Mary Hill; and many nieces, nephews and other loved family and friends. 

There will be no formal services at this time.
