Lonnie Franklin Songer Sr.

Lonnie Franklin Songer, 68, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on August 19, 2022. He was born on April 11, 1954 to the late William and Josie Songer. Lonnie was a lifetime resident of Chattanooga, TN, though he spent his final two years in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He served proudly in the United States Navy. Lonnie was a member of Highland Park Historical District and made it his honor and duty to assist in the restoration of his neighborhood and community. He was the owner and operator of Songer Roofing LLC and served on several housing committees in Chattanooga TN. Lonnie was quick with a joke and whole heartedly believed that there was nothing in this world that couldn’t be healed by Lord Jesus and a good cup of coffee. He loves the Lord with all his heart. Lonnie was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Songer, and brother, Jack Songer.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Kathy Songer, son, Lonnie Songer Jr, and daughters, Keshia Songer, and Ami Risinger, Siblings: Geneva Songer, Shirley McCarter, Frankie Bell, Raymond Hackney, Earl Hackney, and Dennis Songer, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and special neighbors and friends.

Lonnie’s family will have a Celebration of Life service to be announced at a later date.
