Linda Doak Fossett Snider, 83 of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chattanooga on October 8, 1942, to the late William and Ruth Doak. After graduating from City High School of Chattanooga, Linda attended UTC. In 1963, she married Thurston Hamilton Fossett who passed away unexpectedly in 1979. She worked at Hutcheson Medical Center and then worked as office manager for Dr. Mackler at Memorial Hospital. In 1992, she married Dr. Harold Wexler Snider and moved to in the Metro DC area. After his passing in 2009, Linda returned to Chattanooga. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution with the local John Ross Chapter.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda Fossett Burger Ballew, Jennifer Fossett Rice (Michael Lejman), and Timothy Doak Fossett; grandchildren, Trey Burger (Lauren), Rachael Lejman, and Ben Lejman; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Ann Burger; bonus children, David Snider and Ellen Snider Underwood (Colvin); and bonus grandchildren, Violet Snider-Goens, Bryn and Jackson Underwood.

As per her wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hearth Hospice or the Kidney Foundation of Chattanooga in Linda’s honor.
