Linda Martin Cox

Linda Martin Cox, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was a Christian who resided in Hixson and Soddy Daisy, TN, where she built a life centered around family, hard work, and simple joys. Linda worked for several years at DuPont and later retired from Chattanooga Bakery. Outside of work, Linda lived life with energy and spirit.

She enjoyed water skiing in her younger years and was known as a great bowler and dart player. Linda believed deeply in the saying "Waste not, want not". A principle she carried through every part of her life.

Linda could be stubborn at times, but she had a heart of gold. She loved her cats dearly and had a special place in her heart for dogs as well. Her strength, independence and love for her family will be remembered always.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Luke Martin and Hazel Johnson Martin and her son, Jerry Russell Cox.

She is survived by her sister, Treva Martin Jackson; brother, Charles Martin (Connie) and sister, Cathy Martin Neeley (Dennis); daughter-in-law, Jennette Cox; grandchildren, Dylan and Emma; along with other distant family members who will cherish her memory.

A celebration of life will be held on May 17, 2026, from 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. at Vista Ridge Apartments, 10405 Card Road, Soddy Daisy, TN. A private ceremony to bury her cremains with her son will take place at a later date.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
