Lester "Sonny" Wilkey Jr. of Soddy Daisy (Dayton) TN finally lost the last of his 9 lives on August 8, 2026. Born to Neva (Delano) Wilkey, and Lester Wilkey Sr. January 27,1957 in Presque Isle, Maine.
He spent most of his 9 lives in Tennessee, alongside his sons. He was a cross-country truck driver but settled down to hauling logs off the mountain in his later years. His family will always remember him as the creator of chaos and the starter of endless mischief. Sonny's greatest love was driving trucks. He was always up for any adventure, especially if it could or would end up with some type of trouble accompanying it. In the last few months of his life, he stumbled into the Seventh Day Adventist Chapel of Dayton. He gave his heart and soul, asked for forgiveness and apologized for all the things he had done to himself and especially his family. He Prayed for forgiveness and reconciliation with the people that he loved.
His pride and joy was this dog Pluto. He is survived by his sons David and Derek (wife Kita); grandchildren Caleb, Cody, Tyler, Payton, Kaden, Jaylen; great grandchildren, Kiara and Eli; sisters Jean and Karon. His favorite nieces Maria, Jessica, Rebecca, and nephew Calvin. He will be missed by many.
Graveside services will be held October 10, 2026, at 1:30pm at Rogers, Wilkey Cemetery in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
