Leonard Eugene Trammel, AKA, Gene Lovin, passed away February 17, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1946, in Birmingham, AL.

Gene brought life, laughter, and a passion for music to everyone he encountered throughout his remarkable journey.

As a celebrated local DJ and a beloved figure in the radio industry, Gene's voice resonated through the airwaves, touching the hearts of many. His infectious enthusiasm and heartfelt connections made him a cherished friend and mentor to countless individuals in the community.

Gene is now reunited in spirit with his beloved mother, Alva L. Spence ; father, Leonard C. Trammel; brothers, Donnie Trammel & Ronnie Trammel and sister, Sandra Spence.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Brenda K. Trammel; daughter, Christina M. (Michael) Davis, of The Villages, FL; son, Ryan E. Trammel, of Chattanooga, TN; stepson, Christopher A. Gray, of Arizona; stepdaughter, Angela G. (James) Stewart, of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren; Mica Taylor Morgan, Jakob R. Morgan, Emma Grace Stewart and Molly Elizabeth Stewart; a host of nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Gene's vibrant spirit and the joy he brought to all, a memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. Join us as we come together to share stories, laughter, and love in honor of a remarkable man who lived life to the fullest.
