Lee Jackson "Jack" Cooper II, of Ooltewah, TN, gained his wings May 9, 2026. Jack was born in Gadsden, AL February 27, 1961.

Jack and his family later moved to Soddy-Daisy, TN, where he was raised. He was a graduate of Soddy High School. Jack later attended Chattanooga State Technical Community College to pursue a degree in communications.

He was a singer/songwriter and a professional musician for over 40 years, playing in 29 states. Jack also played with Marshall Tucker Band and opened for Confederate Railroad. He worked as a residential and commercial contractor, but his love was his music. At the age of 5, he met Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, which sealed his love for Outlaw Country music. He was also a member of the Chattanooga Boys Choir. Jack enjoyed playing his guitar for any audience and said no audience is too small, working in the yard, sitting around the fire pit with friends and grilling out. Family was a big deal to him. He touched so many lives with his music, wit and charm. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Jackson (Lee J) Cooper, Sr and Norma Hillian Cooper, son, Lee Jackson (Lee) Cooper III.

Jack is survived by his wife, Marilyn Clinton Cooper, of Ooltewah, TN; Son, Travis Cooper; Stepdaughter, Tiffany Renfro; and Sisters, Leesa Kerns and Pat Holcomb.

Family and friends will gather to share stories and celebrate Jack at Companion Funeral Home, Ridge Chapel, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 6:00-8:00PM.
