LaVesta Myers, 83, of Cleveland, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 7, 2026. She was born on October 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Hubert and Edna Hickman. She graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1962. She worked at Hardwick Clothes for over 30 years until her retirement.

LaVesta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman who loved deeply and gave generously, always finding ways to care for the people around her. Her home was a place where family and friends were always welcome, and no one ever had to wonder if there was a place for them at her table.

One of LaVesta's greatest joys was cooking and baking for the people she loved. She spent countless hours preparing Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and every holiday in between, filling her home with the smells of homemade food and bringing everyone around her table. She never simply cooked a meal-she put her heart into it. Her kitchen was one of the many ways she showed her love.

She is also known for her wonderful baking and sweet treats. She made fudges, cakes and other homemade goodies for teachers, coworkers, friends, family, and so many others throughout the years. She loved having something special to give to someone, and she found immense joy in making others feel cared for. Cooking and baking were more than things she enjoyed-they were how she showed people she loved them.

LaVesta was deeply giving, loving, and nurturing. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome, loved and at home. Her table was always open, her heart was always generous, and there was always room for one more. The memories made around her kitchen table, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the treats she made with her own hands will be cherished by her family and friends for generations to come.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jimmy "Moe" Myers, and brother Wallace Hickman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, sons, Billy (Tammy) Myers and Tommy (Annette) Myers of Cleveland and her daughter Tammy (Gary) Capp of Rock Springs, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Brooke Dailey, Brad (Alyssa) Myers, Blake (Brittany) Myers, Maranda (Andrew) Reffner, Lyndsey (Codey) Hixson, Chelsea (Easton) Clark, Alison (Chris) Lee and Courtney (Cody) Schmidt.
