Laura ("Laurie") Gail Anderson died on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She was 67. After graduating from the University of Toledo, Laurie worked as a plant controller for Dana Corporation, an automotive parts manufacturer, at its plants in Reading, Pennsylvania; Elizabethttown, Kentucky; Montgomery, Alabama; and Gastonia, South Carolina. Living in so many locations allowed Laurie a chance to explore different parts of the country. She and her sister Julie travelled together and they visited many of the national parks. Eventually, one of Laurie's plant managers at Dana lured her to work for him at a competitor in Atlantic, Iowa. Laurie worked there until around 2012, when she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee to escape the wind and snow of Iowa and to retire to a life of bicycling and playing with her dogs.

Cleveland provided the perfect combination of steep and rolling hills on back roads for Laurie to train for biking trips. During the 1990s and 2000s Laurie and her sister Julie went biking in Maryland, Virginia, the Canadian Rockies, and Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket. After moving to Cleveland, and after her sister was sidelined, Laurie went solo to the San Juan Islands and Bryce and Zion National Parks. More recently, Laurie went to Vermont with one of her bicycling friends Cheryl. Her friends relied on Laurie to provide the route directions for their rides and she will be sorely missed for those.

Laurie also loved her dogs. She is survived by the greatest dog ever, Riley, who will be moving next door to live with Barry, Melanie, and Penny. Laurie is also survived by her older brother Chris, who lives in Toledo, and continues to work as a prosecutor for Wood County, Ohio, and by her older sister, Julie, who is a retired attorney, who lives in Atlanta.
