Larry B. Rector

Larry B. Rector, 79, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born on November 14, 1946. Larry proudly served in the United States Navy. He served with honor, dedication, and pride.

After completing his military service, Larry went on to work in the pest control business for over 30 years. Even though he was retired, he would never turn someone down that needed his service. That was just one way that he helped people.

Above all, Larry was a loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. Larry will be remembered for kindness, strength, generosity, and the love for his family.

Larry had one of the biggest hearts; to him, love was stronger than blood. He loved those he considered family more than anything.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and animals. He liked riding through the mountains, fishing, car shows, playing his harmonica, and playing pool.

Larry is survived by his brother, Kenneth Rector (Brenda); his chosen daughter, Deanna Ashel granddaughter, Serenity Waters, bonus grandson Christian Goforth; his beloved great-grandson, Greyson Goforth; along with many nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell K. Everett; his brothers, Bill Rector and Richard Rector; his sister, Judy K. Pierce; his beloved son, Tommy Waters and beloved daughter, Samantha Bates.

Larry's Family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Chaplain Adam Jones. A graveside service is to follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee. Christian Goforth, Thomas Lipps, Chris Jackson, Freddie Dalton, Forest Chapman, and Joe Rayburn will serve as pallbearers.
