Larry E. Ellis

Larry Eric Ellis went to meet the Lord on Wednesday March 25, 2026, while trying to recover from a heart attack during an ER visit for the pneumonia 3 weeks prior. He fought a nearly month long battle but God had other plans.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He enjoyed time with family, friends, a good book, and keeping up to date on the news. He was especially fond of a house full of family during the holidays, a quiet dinner with his wife, and poker night with the "boys".

He was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist church in Chattanooga, TN.

Larry was preceded in death by his son Mark Ellis, his mother Mary E. Ellis, and father John H. Ellis.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Billie J. Ellis, son Eric Ellis daughter-in-law Jessica Munson Ellis, stepson, Ken Stewart, stepdaughter, Lisa Johnson, and granddaughters Lilly Ellis, Isabelle Ellis, Marlee Ellis Pipkin, and Claire Ellis.

In recognition of his military service as a Captain in the Army, the interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on April 24, 2026, at 12:15 with honors.

A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
