Kevin David Tilley, affectionately known as "David," age 66, of Niota, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 16, 2026. David was born on September 22, 1959, to the late Kenneth "Ken" Tilley Sr. and Ruby Wattenbarger Tilley.

David was a dedicated and respected member of his community. He was a founding member of both the Union Grove Fire Department and the North McMinn Fire Department, where he faithfully served for over 40 years, holding the roles of Assistant Fire Chief and Lieutenant. He also worked for 35 years at Gemtron as a glass manufacturer. In his spare time, David was an avid Ham radio operator and was rarely without his radio. He found joy in yardwork and loved watching sports, especially football.

David faithfully attended Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Niota, where he and his wife, Janie, served for several years as custodians. He also took great pride in providing security for the church and its members, often opening doors with a smile. 

Known for his kind and gentle spirit, David had a servant's heart and a way of making everyone feel valued. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He was the best "Daddy" his daughter Amber could have ever asked for, always ensuring her needs were met. As "Poppy," to Paisley and Chesney, he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, especially the Sunday outings he often shared with the girls. 

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother, Dana Tilley, and sister-in-law, Jean Tilley.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 10 years, Janie Tilley; his beloved daughter, Amber (Drew) Isbill; his bonus daughter, Amy (Michael) Dawson; his cherished grandchildren, Paisley and Chesney Isbill, and Shelby Dawson; his siblings, Kenny Tilley (fiancée Belinda), Shelia Cooper (Danny), and Carlos Tilley (Laura); along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Miss Molly.

David was a man who loved deeply and never hesitated to show it. He was a pillar of the McMinn County community, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Bill Dawson and Paul Baker. Burial will immediately follow at Beulah Chapel Church Cemetery.
