Kenneth Alan
Stokes
Jul 21, 1953 — Sep 5, 2026
Kenneth Alan Stokes, age 73, of Etowah, TN, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 5, 2026. He was born in Atlanta, GA, to the late James Mayo Stokes and Annie Laverne Stokes.
Kenneth began welding at just 17 years old and went on to become a certified welder, working in a profession he truly enjoyed for more than 50 years. He loved what he did and took great pride in his work. Kenneth was a hardworking, easygoing man who enjoyed the simple things in life. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Call of Duty and watching television shows such as NCIS and Criminal Minds.
Above all, Kenneth was a loving father to his children and a devoted husband to his wife of 48 years, Rebecca. His family was a very important part of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Stokes; his brother, James "Jimmy" Stokes; and his granddaughter, Brittney.
Kenneth leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca Ann Stokes; his cherished daughters, Charlene Stokes (fiancé, David) and Rachel Stokes (Noah); his brother, Darryl "Stringbean" Stokes (Yvonne); and his good friend, Rita Miller. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Sherby and Mittens, whom he loved dearly and who, in return, loved him dearly.
There are no formal services planned at this time.
Companion Funeral & Cremation Service of Athens, TN, and the Cody family are honored to assist the Stokes family during this difficult time.
