Julie Gannaway

With heavy hearts yet grateful for the many memories she leaves behind, we announce the passing of Julie Dianne Gannaway.

Julie Diane Gannaway, age 48, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, December 7th, in a local hospital following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Gannaway and Joyce Gannaway, and her brother, Jason Gannaway.

She was fearless, outspoken, funny, and unwavering in her love for her family and friends - a modern-day Joan of Arc in her own right. Larger than life, Julie had a bold spirit, a generous heart, and a laugh that could be heard long before she entered a room. She stood her ground, spoke her truth, and never missed a chance to make others laugh. Julie will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by one brother, Joe Gannaway; one son, John Gannaway; and one daughter, Jessica Underwood. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Chloe, Mia, and Arianna; two nieces, Makayla and Haylee; one nephew, Coby Gannaway; and her best friend and cousin, Scotty Burton.
