Judy Black

Judy Payne Black, 85, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026.

Judy spent many years of dedicated service at Hardwick Clothes, where she retired after a long and fulfilling career. Known for her strong work ethic and commitment, she formed lasting friendships with her coworkers and took great pride in her community. Above all, Judy's greatest joy was her family, whom she loved deeply and supported unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Black; her parents, Claude and Ann Payne; and her son-in-law, Tracy Bradley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Janel Bradley, Todd Black (Tammy), and Danny Black (Annette); brother, Doug Payne (Judy); and sister, Sharon Hughes. Judy was also the proud grandmother of Ashley Welch, Tyler Black (Nikki), and Tanner Black (MaKayla); and the cherished great-grandmother of Holden Black and Cooper Black, with another great-grandchild expected to arrive in February. She also leaves behind many special cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and treasured memories that her family will carry in their hearts for years to come.

Judy's family will receive friends from 4pm until 7pm on Thursday August 20, 2026 in the "Ridge Sanctuary" of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 7pm. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 10am on Friday August 21st. A funeral procession will leave Companion at 9:30am.
