Joseph "Joe" Turner, born in Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 in Cleveland, TN at 84 years of age. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Joe led a life marked by dedication and service. He pursued his education at McCallie School before continuing his studies at Vanderbilt and then graduating from University of Chattanooga. Joe was blessed with an exciting and rewarding career in financial and entrepreneurial fields ranging from banking to Coca-Cola to textiles then to convenience stores and gasoline. His commitment to his country was exemplified through his service as a Marine Reservist, reflecting his sense of duty and honor.
Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting where he found solace and joy in nature. The tales of his fishing exploits will be shared and remembered for years to come. As man of faith he was an active and devoted member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland, TN where he found spiritual guidance and a sense of community.
Family was at the heart of Joe's life. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Fay, their daughters Paige and Valerie, his son-in-law Derek, treasured grandson Everett Ethridge as well as several nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Sam Turner and Marcielle Almon Turner and his brothers Milton and Sam.
Joe's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. As his family and friends gather to celebrate his life, they'll treasure the love and memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 1:00 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church, located at 155 Central Ave NW in Cleveland, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if you could donate in Joe's memory to Broad Street United Methodist Church or a charity that's special to you.
