Joseph Nathaniel Powers

Joseph Nathaniel Powers, 40, of Decatur, Tennessee passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 6, 2022. Joseph was born October 8, 1981 in Athens, Tennessee to the late Reba Louise and Billy Leon Powers. Joseph was a construction worker by day, singer and tattoo artist by night.

Along with that, Joseph was a very outgoing and free-spirited person. He loved spending time with family and friends. Although he didn’t attend church regularly, his love for God was always shown through singing gospel hymns and spreading God’s word.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother and father, Reba Louise Powers and Billy Leon Powers.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory the love of his life, Sabrina Powers Poston; his children, Darcy Brianna Mae (Joshua) Ison, Katelynn Louise Powers, Darla Mae Powers, Nathan Layne Dixon, and Devon Powers; brother, Damien Leon (Eva) Powers; grandson, Malachi Joshua Ison; nieces, Lilli Powers and Brittany Powers; nephews, Wesley Powers (Nikki Guzzeti); Alex Powers, and Kyler Powers; great nieces, Tara Grant, Sydney Grant, and Zoey Powers; close friends, Melissa Ison, Josh Poston, Shane Ison, Angelina Ison, Caleb Ison, Anne Green, Tiffany Thomas, and Jalen Dixon.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 14, 2022 at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service – Athens Chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor William Dick officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
