Joseph Hoyt Campbell

Obituary
Joseph Hoyt Campbell, 72 a lifelong resident of Reliance, TN went home to be with Jesus on Saturday night, October 12th, 2013 surrounded by his family. Hoyt was born in Reliance on May 3, 1941 a son of the late Hershel and Daisy Campbell. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church since age eleven. Hoyt worked at Pioneer Furniture Company in Athens, TN until his retirement. Hoyt loved hunting and fishing but above all was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by three sisters Jewel Dabbs, Janie Darnell and Grace Anderson, three brothers Leland Campbell, E. P. Campbell and Winfred “W.C.” Campbell.
Hoyt leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of fifty one years Frances Withrow Campbell, one daughter and son-in-law Renee & Scott Waters of Old Fort, TN, one son Doug Campbell, two granddaughters Samantha and Kelie Waters of Old Fort, TN, two sisters Almeta Taylor and Ova Wilson both of Cleveland, TN one brother and sister-in-law Gilbert & Joann Campbell. He is also survived by numerous other family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Greasy Creek Baptist Church located in Reliance, TN with the Reverend David Moore and the Reverend Johnny Townsand officiating. Interment will follow in the Greasy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reed Sullivan, Wade Wilcox, Adam Withrow, Mark Darnell, Jimmy Withrow and Terry Satterfield serving as pallbearers. Kenny Campbell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday night, October 15th, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
