Joni Gaye DuBose, known to all who loved her as Gaye, passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on January 8, 1959, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Gaye spent her early years growing up in Mississippi before later making her home in Tennessee, where she built a life centered around family, kindness, and quiet acts of service to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca Comans and Robert Comans; her sister, Vickie; and her brothers, Tony and Buck.

Gaye is survived by her loving children, Jamie (Tony) Moore of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Billy (Elizabeth) DuBose of Vancleave, Mississippi. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Haley (Nathan) Brown, Hayden Brown, and Trinity (Jeremiah) Brown, and a cherished great-grandmother to Amelia and Zayden. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan (David) Vice, Becky (David) Barley, and Misty Comans, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Gaye found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, spending time outdoors feeding wildlife, and giving back to her community through volunteering at local church food banks. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 PM at Coastal Funeral Home, 12800 Hwy 613, Moss Point, MS 39562.
