John Redling V, born on June 14, 1945, in Trenton, NJ, passed away and entered into the arms of his Lord, on March 4, 2026, at the age of 80 in Decatur, TN. He later made his home with Shirley in Decatur,TN., a town he grew to love. He owned a business in Decatur. Known for his skills in carpentry, John made a significant impact in the construction industry as a dedicated member of Local Union 74. His work as a carpenter was a point of pride, and he crafted a variety of beautiful pieces, including exceptional grandfather clocks, handmade in his shop, that he sold across many states. He was also a talented logger in his younger years.

In his earlier years, John found joy in hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy life's simple pleasures. He was also a passionate music lover, participating in the New Jersey Magical Chorus Choir in his youth. Every Tuesday evening, John would gather with friends to sing, reflecting his love for camaraderie and music. His friendships extended beyond singing; he was a social man who cherished outings and had a knack for engaging conversations.

John is survived by his loving family, including his son John Redling VI, daughter Michelle Elizabeth Redling Radcliffe, Step-daughter Barbara Suzanne Delashmitt, step-son Bill Bull and step-grandsons Thomas Dunn and Joseph Dunn, and step-granddaughters Samantha Pierce and Heather Fisher. He loved his step grandchildren as his own. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, John Redling VII, Amanda Jane Redling, Lucas Clayton Radcliff, and Abigail Radcliff. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Caroline Store and Barbara Joan Pyatt. Special friends- Jeff Ghorley, Dianna Ghorley, and Mildred McCoin. He had many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

John was a devoted supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Disabled American Veterans, making monthly donations as a testament to his compassionate spirit. He will be remembered for his generous heart, remarkable craftsmanship, and love for family and friends. Following his wishes, his remains will be cremated and laid to rest at Powell Cemetary in Decatur, Tn.

John was preceded in death by: his parents John Redling IV, Anna Redling, and the love of his life,Shirley Redling.
