Obituary

Joe Felix Apolinar “Pappy” passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 27, 1945 to the late Joe Felix and Isadora Ahuero Apolinar. He had been a resident of the Athens area since November 1993. He was of the Catholic faith. Pappy loved doing yard work and construction. Above all things, however, pappy was a loving husband and father that loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by one daughter: Christie Lynn Ferguson Coleman of Athens, TN, two sisters: Stella Apolinar and Dora Apolinar of San Antonio, TX.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years, Pat Apolinar; three children: Gina Apolinar, Jodi Martinez (Vincent), Ansela Boe Hicks (David); two siblings: Sally Ramos of Lamar, TX and Josie Garcia of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren: Monica and Vincent Martinez of Round Rock, TX, Amanda Gonzalez and Ethan Apolinar of Ramrock, TX, Trevor Coleman of Decatur, TN, Angel Apolinar of Athens, TN, Nathan Carrol and Hembree Sands of Athens, TN, Gary Boe of Mountain City, TN; one very special great-grandson Malachi Kobe Diegoe Smith “Boo” of Athens, TN; one very special niece Cheryl Richesin of Athens, TN; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends in Tennessee and Texas; and special friend and mother-in-law Ruth Webb Cornett of Athens, TN; friend & sister-in-law Jane Corneet Smith.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
