Joan Margaret Ohlsson, 93, passed away on July 3, 2025. Joan was born to the late William Haenel and Margaret Haenel Fay on May 17, 1932 in Merrillan, Wisconsin.
Joan loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and to cook for her family, friends, supper clubs and church potlucks. Her favorite thing to make was desserts, especially Christmas cookies with her grandkids. Joan was an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church, and later joined First Baptist Church when they moved to Cleveland to be closer to their sons. She enjoyed shopping at Dillard's, socializing with friends and family, and playing Bunco and Rummikub.
In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leonard Ohlsson, and her step-father, Harold Fay.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Forsgren, sons, Scott (Annie) and James Ohlsson, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, June Fiege.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Tom Wickes officiating.
