Jimmy C. Thurman, 78, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on February 24, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family and the many memories he created over a life well lived. He was born on March 2, 1947 to the late Cline D Thurman and Leona Ruth Thurman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Thurman; in-laws, John and Donaline Pearson; niece, Kimberly Pearson Hawthorne; as well as his sister-in-law, Sandy Pearson.
Jimmy was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. He served as Corporate Vice President of McKey Perforating, where he was respected for his steady leadership and strong character. He was also an active member of the Industrial Perforators Association, reflecting his dedication to his profession.
Beyond his career, Jimmy cherished time with his family and loved traveling near and far, whether for work or leisure. Jimmy also enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, who brought him daily joy.
Saturday mornings were reserved for breakfasts with his son, Jeff - moments he cherished deeply. Jimmy was an avid University of Tennessee fan. His enthusiasm for the Vols was as strong as his love for those around him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Jo Nell Pearson Thurman; son, Jeff Thurman; his loyal dog and best friend, Gracie; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny (Brenda) Pearson; brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Liz) Pearson; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Curt Watson, Natalie and Ben Underwood, Jerry and Amie Pearson; special friend, Jean McKey; several great nieces and nephews; along with his numerous friends he all loved.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February, 27, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Bellefounte Baptist Church with Pastor Lake Walker officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Bo Beavers, Grant Blankes, Richard Thomas, Percy Cooper, Lloyd Emery, and Steve Haun will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family ask that any memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to The SPCA of Bradley County in Jimmy's name.
