Jimmie Ruth Humberd

Jimmie Ruth Humberd, 98, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Morristown, Tennessee on November 7, 1926 and moved to Cleveland in 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, Callie McKinney and Manley McKinney; her husband, Clyde Humberd; and her brother, Ralph McKinney.

She loved the Lord and loved reading the Bible, which she read all the way through several times. She also loved her family and loved spending time with them whether it was going on vacations, going shopping, or just hanging out at her house enjoying a pizza. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Jimmy Ruth retired from BellSouth after 32 years of service and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a member of Bridgemakers and enjoyed going on trips with them. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church for over 30 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Freddie) Grubb; her son, Terry (Beverley) Humberd; her granddaughters, Holly (Tom) Ryder, Jennifer Grubb, and Elizabeth (Michael) Hurley; her great granddaughters, Taylor Waldroup and Callie Hurley; her great grandsons. Quinton Hurley and Ashton Hurley; her great great grandson, Waylon Hurley; and niece, Alice McKinney; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with pastor Judson Kirkpatrick officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
